Indoor Nationals, 2025
Easton Center, Chula Vista, CA - February 7-9
Indoor Nationals is pinncale of indoor season in the archery community, bringing together archers of all skill levels to compete in a high-energy, precision-focused environment. Hosted in multiple locations across the country and across multiple weekends, OCD Strings attended the event on February 7-9 at the Easton Center in Chula Visa, CA. The venue was sold out and archers brought their A-game across all categories.
Attending Indoor Nationals as a vendor was an exciting opportunity to connect with fellow archers, showcase my products, and enjoy the camaraderie that makes the archery world so special. It was rewarding to engage with so many passionate archers, discuss their needs, and help them find the perfect custom bow strings to enhance their performance.
The real magic of the event came from the connections and the unexpected moments of fun. My favorite moment came during Saturday's evening line in the form of a lighthearted mission that brought laughter and a little bit of deliciousness to the competition floor. Somewhere between intense rounds of shooting, a legendary breakfast food delivery took place. Veteran Next Step Archery Olympic shooter David Whitney requested that I retrieve a pancake for him from fellow Next Step Archery barebow archer Shenlan Guan, shooting on lane 4. Confused, I proceeded to lane 4 to convey the strange request. Shenlan produced a package of individually wrapped pancakes and I dutifully trotted them back to David in lane 27. I've seen many unusual food items at competitions in my competition tenure, but this was a first. Glad I could assist with some quick carb energy to get David through that final stretch. A simple act, but one that perfectly captured the spirit of the archery community, camaraderie, and a shared love for the sport (and good food). Fun was had by all, and it’s these moments that make events like this truly memorable.
Whether it was helping archers fine-tune their setup with the right string, cheering on friends, or orchestrating an epic pancake relay, Indoor Nationals was an event to remember. Thank you to everyone who stopped by my booth, shared a laugh, and supported my small business. Until next time—shoot straight and have fun!
