OCD Team
Julie Bergen
Archer & Stringmaker
I’ve been an Olympic recurve archer since 2014 and a string maker for nearly as long. When I commit to something, I go all in. Early in my archery journey, I wanted to understand every part of my equipment, so I learned to make my own bowstrings. Before long, I was making them for my entire team, refining my craft with each build. Now as a Level 4 NTS coach and archer, I know exactly what an archer needs in a string—precision, consistency, and reliability.

My passion for craftsmanship started long before archery. I’ve been a jewelry maker for as long as I can remember, spent years as a professional flute-maker crafting custom musical instruments, and have been a glassblower since 2006. Each of these pursuits taught me the importance of precision, attention to detail, and the patience required to create something truly exceptional. These same qualities drive my approach to string making—ensuring that every string I build meets the highest standard of quality.

At OCD Strings, I take pride in creating strings that archers can trust at every level of competition. From the first shot to the last, a well-made string can make all the difference. I love discussing and testing new techniques to push the limits of precision and consistency, always striving to make something even better.

Archery has shaped who I am, teaching me discipline, patience, and the pursuit of excellence. Whether I’m coaching, competing, or at my string jig crafting the next string, I’m always working toward that next level.

R&D Consultant & Brand Ambassador
My name is Christian Stoddard. I’ve been an archer since 2017 and a string maker since 2023. Archery is a huge part of my life, driven by focus, precision, and constant self-improvement. Every time I step onto the shooting line, I’m pushing myself to be better.

In 2021, after ordering my first OCD String, I was gifted a string jig, and Julie taught me how to make my first string. That experience sparked a passion for string making, and now, I craft strings I trust at national events and while representing Team USA at world tournaments. I love testing new techniques to make strings even more precise—ones I’m proud to shoot.

In 2023, I won the South American Open, earned silver at the Youth World Championships, and was named World Archery Americas U18 Recurve Archer of the Year. By 2025, I was ranked 4th in the U.S. for Senior Male Recurve and earned a spot on the U.S. World Cup Team. As a USA Archery Resident Athlete since 2023, I’ve had the opportunity to train with the best and continuously push my limits.

Archery has taught me patience, discipline, and the drive to always improve. Whether I’m competing or fine-tuning bowstrings, I’m always working toward the next level. I can’t wait to see where this journey takes me next.
Sponsored Archers

Hi! My name is Elizabeth Howe, and I am a competitive barebow archer. I have been shooting competitively since late 2022. Since the day I got my first bow, my passion for archery has only continued to grow. I really enjoy the challenge and the focus required to execute a good shot, and how I can put all of my mental energy into the moment.
Since I started competing, I have participated in numerous events on both the state and national level. One of my favorite events lately include the Indoor National Finals in 2024, ranking 6th across all age categories of women’s barebow. I also placed first in qualifications and eliminations at SoCal Showdown in both 2023 and 2024, as well as at AZ Cup in 2024. I am currently ranked first in my category in the state of California, and hold all state records for U18 women’s
barebow.
I work everyday to do my best to grow as an archer, to grow my sport, and to make it more accessible to more members of my community. In doing so, I have been working with local municipalities to establish a new outdoor archery range in my community. I also hope to qualify for the United States Archery Team this year and to have the opportunity to compete internationally one day.

I’m Gabi Sasai, a senior Olympic recurve archer. I’ve been shooting since I was 6 years old and it has been one of my greatest passions for a majority of my life. I have had the honor to shoot for team USA on the World Cup circuit as well as other international events such as the world youth championships and the Junior Pan American games.

In the future I would like to make the 2028 LA Olympic team and represent USA on home soil. There’s a long road ahead for me and my short term goal for now is making the 2025 Senior Recurve Women’s team.
